CONCORD – Two pro-choice groups have endorsed Cinde Warmington for Executive Council District 2: the Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund PAC, and EMILY’s List.
In September, Warmington was endorsed by the Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund PAC, which cited her focus on the importance of protecting reproductive rights on the Council. “The Executive Council, which approves judicial nominees and contracts, is the last line of defense against attacks on the constitutional right to abortion and efforts to defund PPNNE health centers,” said PPNHAF PAC Advisory Board Chair Skip Small. “Currently, there is a vacancy for NH Supreme Court Chief Justice. It’s critical that judges serving on New Hampshire’s courts understand the importance of upholding reproductive rights.”
Warmington has also been endorsed by EMILY’s List, a nationwide organization that works to elect pro-choice women candidates. “As a working mom, health care attorney, and local activist, Cinde will fight every day to protect and expand access to health care and reproductive rights in the Granite State. Cinde has the passion and know-how to enact real change for her community, and EMILY’s List is thrilled to support her campaign for the New Hampshire Executive Council,” said Sarah Curmi, interim vice president of state and local campaigns at EMILY’s List.
The Executive Council has come into focus in recent weeks for its role in confirming judicial nominations in New Hampshire, including to the New Hampshire Supreme Court. Warmington has spoken out against the nomination of an anti-choice candidate to the N.H. Supreme Court, a nomination which would risk reproductive rights in New Hampshire.
“The right to choose is on the line, and it will be squarely before our NH Supreme Court,” Warmington said. “That’s why it’s so important to elect a majority pro-choice Executive Council.“
