Taking Action to Address the Housing Crisis
RYAN: Let’s speak specifically on affordability, and two areas we touched upon yesterday that I feel haven’t really been dealt with sufficiently in Governor Ayotte’s first term. One is on housing, where it does not feel that there has been a lot done to make housing more affordable in New Hampshire, to perhaps put pressure on municipalities and towns to allow for more projects. We need to be 100 percent focused on this. And one thing that the listeners may not know, that there is currently nobody in state government who is responsible for knowing how many housing units we have, how many we need, and designing the plan to get there. So let’s start with that. [...] We need to do that right away.

They are through the roof because of things like her education voucher scheme that just simply is a pickpocket scheme taking money out of the pockets of working people and handing it to the richest people in our state and driving up everybody’s property taxes. We need to tackle that problem, and we need to stop downshifting to our cities and towns. And Kelly Ayotte’s solution to this is just to point the finger of blame at the cities and towns for her excessive spending [...]
