On New Hampshire Today, Cinde Warmington Blasts Kelly Ayotte’s Child Advocate Cuts, Rising Property
CONCORD, NH — In Case You Missed It, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Cinde Warmington recently spoke with Chris Ryan on New Hampshire Today about the latest reports of abuse at the Sununu Youth Services Center.
Warmington also discussed Ayotte’s failure to stand up to Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs — which are continuing to drive up prices for Granite State families and small businesses — as well as skyrocketing property taxes that are driven in large part by Ayotte’s private school voucher scheme.
You can listen to the full interview here. Key excerpts are below:
Ayotte’s Cuts To Child Advocate Prolonged Abuse At The Sununu Center
WARMINGTON: With respect to protecting the safety of the people of our state, Kelly Ayotte is absolutely failing, most notably with respect to the Sununu Youth Center [...] In the face of decades, decades of history of abuse, Kelly Ayotte and her administration have allowed once again kids to be victimized by abuse in that facility. [...] The Office of the Child Advocate, she cut their budget in half, despite the fact that the Child Advocate warned that if they did do these budget cuts, this is exactly what would happen.
Putting An End To The Private School Voucher Scheme That’s Driving Up Property Taxes
WARMINGTON: No income tax. No sales tax. I would veto it if it came to my desk. Not on my watch. But the real tax issue here is property taxes. We have skyrocketing property taxes, in large part because of Kelly Ayotte’s school voucher scheme [...] As governor, I will repeal that and put a stop to this taking taxpayer dollars out of the pockets of working people and handing it to the richest people in our state.
Granite Staters Deserve a Governor Who Will Stand Up To Trump’s Reckless Tariffs
WARMINGTON: [...] Kelly Ayotte talks a lot about not having a sales tax, but let’s be clear. The biggest sales tax that’s been going on in the state is Trump’s tariffs. They have cost the average household in this state $1,700 over the past year. And Kelly Ayotte has nothing to say about that. She remains silent. Thank goodness that other people brought the lawsuit against the government, against Trump, to stop this. [...] But now Trump has put in a 15% tariff that’s hitting New Hampshire families.
