Cinde Warmington Blasts Kelly Ayotte’s Higher Medicaid Premiums
MANCHESTER, NH — As Kelly Ayotte’s new Medicaid premiums officially take effect, Democratic candidate for governor Cinde Warmington released the following statement.
“Our most vulnerable families will feel the pain and face the increased prices of Kelly Ayotte’s and Donald Trump’s reckless Medicaid cuts. Families that can no longer afford health coverage will be left entirely without health care, and providers will find it harder than ever to continue providing care as they struggle to keep their doors open. Granite Staters deserve a governor who is committed to making health care more accessible and more affordable, and I’ll reverse these costly premiums when I get to the corner office.”
Ayotte’s increased Medicaid premiums will mean that the most vulnerable New Hampshire families will be paying up to over $3,000 each year to maintain health care coverage. Kelly Ayotte also doubled pharmacy copays for Granite Staters enrolled in Medicaid. These reckless cuts come on top of Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, which will rip health coverage from an estimated 14,000 to 29,000 Granite Staters.
Donald Trump’s and Kelly Ayotte’s devastating Medicaid cuts have already shuttered a rural health care facility in Franconia and pushed other health care providers to the brink of closure. In April, Warmington visited the Mascoma Community Health Center and met with providers to hear how Medicaid cuts are jeopardizing access to rural health care.
