NEW POLL: Cinde Warmington Closes in on Ayotte
Within 5 Points of Flipping the Governor’s Office
MANCHESTER, NH — A new UNH poll shows a tightening race for governor of New Hampshire with Cinde Warmington an even stronger challenger now within five points of defeating Kelly Ayotte — the least popular first-term New Hampshire governor in more than 30 years.
This latest poll comes before the Warmington campaign has launched any paid advertising and, notably, after the Ayotte campaign released a wave of negative television attacks.
Ayotte continues to have the worst approval ratings of any first-term New Hampshire governor in more than 30 years, and has failing scores from voters on the issues that matter most, including housing, taxes, and the cost of living. Ayotte has lower approval ratings than Craig Benson did after his drop in the summer of 2004, before being defeated by John Lynch that November.
"All across the state, Cinde is hearing from working families who can't afford another two years of Kelly Ayotte’s failing leadership — soaring property taxes, record-high housing prices, rising health care costs,” said Jon Levin, Communications Director. "Granite Staters are ready for a governor who will fight for them and make life more affordable, not one who rewards her corporate backers and stands by Donald Trump’s shameless corruption. This poll is proof Cinde is continuing to build the grassroots coalition that will deliver the change New Hampshire needs.”
